  My wife and step daughter ordered coffees and a slice of lemon meringue pie each. The coffees were fine as was the service of the staff member, but the lemon meringue pie was definitely inedible! The meringue was like a piece of sticky goo which stuck to the fork. Obviously not fresh in that morning as we were told. When we complained, they did agree to replace it with slices of carrot cake, also not fresh. The outside edges and icing were very dry and the middle was just a little moist. Very disappointing! Sorry but you have lost a couple of regular customers!

  After growing up with The Shingle Inn Edward St Brisbane I find a great difference with this Shingle Inn at Robina shopping centre , I am reviewing now. My husband & I went for lunch there today at 2pm. Only one other couple in the restaurent. We ordered pumpkin soup, 2 coffees & a melting moment. The terrible coffee & stale melting moment came fairly quicklly. 20 minitues passed & we asked about the soup. It came & it was cold ,toast presented later.To be eated with a desert spoon, no soup spoon.I spoke to the waitress about the cold soup.No offer to fix the problem. We left the restaurant leaving the half eaten soup , & coffee. We decided we could never return to this Shingle Inn after the appalling service ,food & stale melting moment. We are not in the habit of giving bad reviews, but this place at Robina shopping centre requires some customer service updates & how to serve food that people can enjoy with courtesy.
